-It is kind of confusing how the story switches back and forth from the US to Europe and vice versa.
-The British promised many people things just to get people on their side.
-It must have been a bad hit for the Americans during the invasion by the British. The Americans lost a lot of men.
-The American men were faced with many odds seeing that they were seen as the underdogs.
-I feel that Cox did a good job at switching from a 1st person narrative to a kind of history lesson.

4 Questions:
-Why does the story take place in the United States, then start taking place in Europe?
-Were there blacks that fought for the European army?
-If the US was the underdog why does it seem that Britain is so desperate for help?
-How did the war continue when there was constant smaller battles.

-Metaphor: "...I thought all London was afloat," (Cox 51).This is metaphor because it says London was afloat.

-Personification: "...behind them was the water filled with English warships," (Cox 55). This is a personification because it says the water was filled with warships. Water can't be filled.
